The ME 55 is a compact, active two-way coaxial speaker optimized for small rooms and near-field listening. Leveraging the ME Geithain coaxial technology, we have achieved breakthrough directivity performance specifically tuned for narrow base widths and short-distance listening. It delivers consistent tonal quality, neutral sound signature, and precise spatial imaging that seamlessly integrates with the rest of the ME series high-end speakers. Despite its small footprint, this speaker offers an impressive audio experience, capable of handling demanding bass reproduction and high volume levels with ease. In 5-channel setups requiring robust high-frequency output, the ME 55 pairs effectively with Basis series models to elevate overall sound quality closer to flagship performance. Equipped with a 13 cm (5 inch) woofer and a coaxially mounted 25 mm (1 inch) tweeter, each driver is powered by a dedicated MOSFET amplifier featuring active crossover and electronic overload protection. The amplifiers are mounted on the rear panel. The ME 55 includes balanced XLR inputs with adjustable input gain. To compensate for installation placement, three rear-panel controls allow continuous adjustment of high and low frequency response, as well as tuning around 300 Hz. A dual-color LED indicates amplifier status and warns of clipping.
