The ME806 is a compact two-way coaxial loudspeaker that expands the 800 product line from ME Geithain. This two-way system features a 8-inch bass driver and a high-frequency array composed of three vertically aligned 1-inch dome tweeters. Its directivity index is optimized for listening distances between 2.5 and 4 meters, delivering natural imaging in both stereo and multi-channel modes. The ported enclosure design ensures excellent transient fidelity for precise, clean low-frequency reproduction down to a cutoff frequency of 38 Hz. Powered by a robust built-in analog amplifier and featuring extremely high system sensitivity, this speaker combines consistent performance with exceptional dynamic range typical of two-way systems. As a result, nonlinear distortion remains minimal even at higher playback levels. Additionally, the speaker includes group delay optimization. An amplifier module with electronic crossovers is integrated into the rear panel. A blinking LED indicates an over-modulation state. If the maximum level is exceeded, the output is attenuated by 20 dB to protect components from overload damage. A room compensation network embedded within the amplifier electronics allows adjustment of room-related frequency response across two continuously variable bands. While conventional waveguides in front of tweeters help control directivity, short reflections off the horn's inner surface often cause unavoidable "coloration." Musikelectronic Geithain breaks this convention by adopting a tweeter array design that eliminates horn attachments used to boost sound pressure levels. With tweeters coaxially mounted directly in front of the midrange system, the speaker guarantees the brand's signature low-coloration reproduction of music and speech while creating the immersive "soundstage proximity" listeners desire. In summary, thanks to these structural improvements, the ME806 achieves seamless sonic compatibility with all other products manufactured at the Geithain factory.
