The ME BASIS 13K is an active subwoofer featuring a custom-developed long-excursion 12.5-inch low-frequency driver designed for ultra-low distortion. With cardioid directivity, the BASIS 13K minimizes rearward room reflections. Our proven "K Technology," used for years in three-way and four-way active speaker systems, delivers over 10 dB of rear attenuation. This allows for excellent room frequency response even in acoustically challenging environments and significantly simplifies subwoofer placement within the listening room. Powered by a built-in 1000W PWM amplifier module, the unit includes an electronic limiter to prevent driver overload. An LED on the rear panel indicates both protection status and operational state. The distance between the front speakers and the subwoofer can range from 0 to 1 meters while maintaining phase correction. An activatable high-pass filter raises the lower cutoff frequency to 40 Hz. The crossover point is continuously adjustable between 60 and 80 Hz. The LFE channel transmission is capped at 120 Hz. All control and power electronics, including connections and controls, are integrated into the rear panel. All BASIS active speakers feature an output on the rear panel to connect a second passive subwoofer, enabling power doubling and offering greater flexibility in placement. Additionally, the system can be switched to Bypass mode via a wired remote control. In this mode, all output channels connect directly to their respective inputs—the subwoofer channel is deactivated, while the LFE channel remains active.
