The ME BASIS 11K is an active subwoofer featuring a proprietary long-excursion 11-inch driver designed for ultra-low distortion. Both the BASIS 13K models offer cardioid directivity to minimize rearward room reflections. Our proven "K Technology," used for years in three-way and four-way active speaker systems, delivers over 10 dB of rearward attenuation. This ensures excellent room frequency response even in acoustically challenging environments and significantly simplifies subwoofer placement in listening rooms. Powered by an internal 1000W PWM amplifier module, the unit includes electronic limiting protection to prevent driver overload. An LED indicator on the rear panel displays both the status of the protection circuit and the operational state of the subwoofer. The distance between the front speakers and the subwoofer can range from 0 to 1 meters, allowing for phase correction within this span. An activatable high-pass filter raises the lower cutoff frequency to 40 Hz. The cutoff frequency is continuously adjustable from 60 to 80 Hz. LFE channel transmission is limited to 120 Hz. All control and power electronics, including connection and operation interfaces, are integrated into the rear panel. Every BASIS active speaker features an output port on the rear panel, enabling the connection of an additional passive subwoofer to increase power (doubling) and relax placement constraints. Additionally, the system supports bypass mode via a remote line controller. In bypass mode, all output channels connect directly to their respective input channels; the bass channel is disabled while the LFE channel remains active.
