ME 802K Floorstanding Quad-4-Way Coaxial Speaker (Cardioid Low-Frequency Response) The ME 802K is a floorstanding, quad-4-way coaxial speaker featuring three 10-inch low-frequency drivers, one 6.5-inch high-performance midrange driver, and a high-frequency array composed of three vertically stacked 1-inch dome tweeters. Its directivity is optimized for listening distances between 3 and 8 meters, delivering natural imaging in both stereo and multichannel configurations. Two 1000 W and two 500 W amplifier modules deliver ample power to the low, mid, and high-frequency channels. This design ensures exceptional overload protection, preventing clipping even with the highest peak signal levels. The system achieves up to 125 dB SPL with no audible distortion across its entire effective frequency range. An integrated room compensation network within the amplifier electronics allows precise adjustment of room-related frequency response. The vertical alignment of the 10-inch low-frequency drivers provides a specific directivity index, ensuring authentic bass presence even at listening distances up to 8 meters. Our proven K-technology minimizes rearward low-frequency reflections, significantly simplifying placement within the listening room. Additionally, the three 10-inch low-frequency drivers can function as an independent subwoofer via the LFE input if required. The 6.5-inch high-performance midrange system delivers clean, low-distortion sound through a smart combination of structural features. For instance, the cone operates independently of the cabinet, completely eliminating cabinet resonance. Instead, the system utilizes a rear-facing acoustic flow resistor to achieve the desired directivity. Unlike conventional waveguides placed in front of tweeters—which control directivity but often introduce unavoidable coloration from short-time reflections on the horn's inner surface—we adopted a different approach. By using a coaxial array design and omitting traditional horn-loaded systems intended solely for SPL gain, we ensure the signature low-coloration sound reproduction our speakers are known for. The tweeters are aligned coaxially directly in front of the midrange driver. These features make the ME 802K stand out in the speaker market. It is ideally suited for longer listening distances and rooms with minimal acoustic decay.
